Become Involved in the Public Planning Process

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

You are invited to a public meeting on October 18, 2007, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the City offices located at 1307 N. Commerce Drive, Suite 200 (behind Smith’s).

October is National Community Planning month and the City would like you to meet the new Planning Director and the planning staff, ask questions about development throughout the City, and allow you to provide input on an upcoming Small Area Plan for Saratoga’s North Shore.

The City has commissioned an energetic team of senior level students from the Urban Planning program at the University of Utah to design a Small Area Plan for Saratoga’s North Shore. They would like the public to provide input and help develop solutions for this area. The North Shore project area is bounded by the Jordan River on the west, the City’s Annexation Boundary on the North, Loch Lomond Subdivision on the East and Utah Lake on the South.

The City of Saratoga Springs is updating the area’s current land use map which designates this area for Rural Residential development and is considering what other types of development may be more suitable for the community’s vision and goals. Issues that will be discussed include: future land use and potential zoning, development possibilities, transportation corridors, potential annexations, and environmental concerns.
