Elections

The Recorder's office is responsible for the administration of all municipal elections and aiding in the registration of eligible voters within the City of Saratoga Springs. Other responsibilities include: informing the public, candidates, and elected officials of election laws and procedures for petition filing, candidate filing, voting and registration.

2009 Election Information

This year there are two (2) Council positions and one (1) Mayoral position to be voted on. They are all four-year terms (January 2010-January 2014).

FILING PERIOD: The filing period begins on July 1, 2009 and ends promptly at 5:00 p.m. on July 15, 2009.
The candidate filing period is from July 1 through July 15, 2009, at the City of Saratoga Springs Recorder's Office, 1307 North Commerce Drive, Suite 200, Saratoga Springs. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (The office will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009 in observance of Independence Day)

**PRIMARY ELECTION** September 15, 2009 (if needed)
Early voting will be from Tuesday, September 1st through Friday, September 11, 2009.

**GENERAL ELECTION** November 3, 2009
Early voting will be from Tuesday, October 20th through Friday, October 30, 2009.

Polls shall be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What are the requirements to run for Office?

  • Must be 18 years old
  • A US citizen
  • A registered voter
  • A resident of Saratoga Springs (or a recent annexation area) for twelve consecutive months prior to the elections.

Are You Registered to Vote?

Have you moved or changed your name since the last election? If so, you must complete registration form to be eligible to vote in election. If you do not know registration status, you may contact the Utah County Elections office at 851-8128 or you may go online for information on the County's “Voter Registration Search System.” For more information on registration, please visit the County's voter registration website.
